Josh Thomas Promoted to Associate

Joshua has been an employee of KMA for nearly 11 years. During that time he has been a part of many great projects ranging from historical preservation, new buildings, transportation related expansion, and public building renovation.

Beginning his KMA journey as an intern, his first project was the Lancaster Avenue Readiness Center, a historical renovation of a 30,000-square-foot United States armory building. Bringing historical buildings back to life through careful research and detail-oriented design work is his passion. The process of discovery, both through historic research and during construction, is his favorite part of the projects he works on.

Joshua grew up in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, where he attended Nazareth Area High School and moved on to Northampton Community College. After receiving an Associate degree in applied sciences of architecture in spring 2011, he transferred to Drexel University where he attended the part-time architecture program. He graduated in winter 2017 and intends to stay with KMA for many years to come.

Joshua is a firm believer in the urban renewal of our cities, and is excited at the prospect of an even more vibrant city life. He cares for fostering community, which is displayed in his thesis which focused on the reclamation of post-industrial land to be used as the basis for new communities and what he calls a “growing community” or urban farming mixed with residential and commercial uses.
