KMA applied sustainable design principles to renovating this facility, which contains a dispatch and training room, offices, lockers, and a lounge for 300 bus drivers. Skylights flood the interior lounge and lunchroom with natural light, creating a bright and calming environment in the double-height space for bus drivers waiting between assignments.

Treatment of the building’s exterior factored in the SEPTA bus terminal to the east and rowhouse neighborhood to the west, resulting in a facade that recalls the area’s industrial roots and residential character.
