Interior Designer

Ashley Matthews ASID

Ashley, who has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design from Moore College of Art, complements MA's project workforce with her background in hospitality, commercial, and residential design. From a young age she knew that she wanted a career in a field that encourages creative expression within a defined program and results in environments conducive to human interaction. She balances a design aesthetic drawn from the work of such industry trailblazers as Antoni Gaudi, Karim Rashid, and Le Corbusier with responsive solutions that incorporate sustainable practices and materials. To her, the perfect interior space is one that integrates nature, green design, positive energy, and captivating visuals. A lifelong Philadelphian, Ashley finds endless artistic inspiration in the city's blend of historic and contemporary architecture.

Her knowledge and skills concerning the selection and specification of furniture, fabric, and finishes add value to renovation and new construction projects with interior components. To stay sharp when it comes to the latest materials and trends, Ashley engages with product reps on a regular basis, a task for which she was once responsible as resource librarian for another design firm.

A former member of the National Honor Society while attending the Charter High School for Architecture and Design (CHAD), Ashley received merit scholarships to attend Delaware College of Art and Design, from which she graduated with an associate degree, and Moore, where she also earned a presidential scholarship. Outside of work, she's usually on the go, traveling to New York City, taking walks in her native city, trying new restaurants, and actively adding to her vinyl record and graphic T-shirt collections. Ashley counts seeing movies and binge-watching an eclectic mix of TV shows among her more relaxing activities.
