The new Ginsburg Health Sciences Library

is located in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine Medical Education and Research Building on Temple's medical campus. The goals of the Medical School Librarian, staff and faculty were to provide research and learning services as well as open access to the library. The library serves students, researchers, scholars and neighbors on the Health Sciences Campus.

Kelly/Maiello was responsible for interior design for the 45,600 SF Ginsburg Health Sciences Library, enclosed by a three-story glass curtainwall and prominently located at the corner of Broad and Tioga Streets. The design includes program elements essential to a major academic library including a welcoming public entrance lobby, intuitive digital technology, specialized learning environments tailored to individual and small group learning, administrative offices and support spaces. The Common spaces are designed like living rooms to encourage collaborative work and socializing. Work tables and upholstered seating allow readers to relax with a book or type on a laptop. Glass-walled study rooms also provide quiet places to work.
