The Aviation Playstation Philadelphia PA Kelly/Maiello Architects and the exhibit designers from the Please Touch Museum joined forces to design the aviation themed play area in Terminal A-East. The Aviation Playstation, as it is known, with its direct view of the airfield, was carved out of an unused circulation area just to the east of the entrance to the concourse. KM provided the design and documentation for the low wall that bounds and defines the play area. The wall has a playfully scalloped top and built-in seating to provide a convenient location for parents to visit amongst themselves while they watch their children play. Windsocks stand at attention on either side of the entrance to greet all incoming children and parents. |
