Quarters A was originally designed as a
residence for the commandant of the
Philadelphia Navy Yard in 1874. The registered
historic landmark is representative of
the mid-19th century, Italian Villa style. The
focus of the project was to restore the historic
interior and renovate the building's systems
to create a new marketing center for
the Philadelphia Industrial Development
Corporation (PIDC). From this facility,
PIDC will market the former Navy Yard
facilities to new businesses and industries.
