Church of the Advocate Philadelphia PA The Church of the Advocate complex in North Philadelphia is a National Historic Landmark, the highest level of distinction on the National Register of Historic Places. The Gothic Revival-style church, completed in 1897, dominates the site that includes the Church, Parish Hall, Curacy and remains of the former chapel. The Church is a place of worship and a performance space for the Art Sanctuary program. Kelly/Maiello initially reviewed and revised an earlier architectural analysis and planning study to guide future renovations. Ongoing phased renovations to the church include masonry and window restoration and rehabilitation, new gutters and flashing, life safety modifications, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades, and lighting design and acoustical improvements. |
